In mid May 2011, BIER conducted its semi-annual meeting, hosted by Pernod Ricard, in Cognac, France. The meeting was attended by more than 40 people representing 18 unique member companies and stakeholder organizations.
Highlights of the meeting included breakout sessions for the Energy & Climate Change Mitigation and the Water Conservation & Resource Mitigation working groups and the kick-off of BIER’s annual benchmarking study. Representatives from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the European Organization for Packaging and the Environment (EUROPEN) participated in an open stakeholder dialogue session with BIER members. Attendees also toured the House of Martell.
The next meeting is scheduled for October in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
